Job Title: Summer Podcast Production Intern  
Organization: Age of Aging Podcast / Penn Memory Center  
Location: Ralston House, 3615 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (Hybrid)  
Duration: Summer internship with possibility to extend into academic year (15 hours/week) 

About the Role

The Age of Aging Podcast seeks a motivated and curious intern to support podcast production. This is an opportunity to participate in episode concept development, publication and promotion. This is a hands-on opportunity for a writer and thinker who’s interested in storytelling, media production, aging, the brain and longevity.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and pitch original episode concepts aligned with the podcast's themes 

  • Write engaging and accurate episode show notes for publication 

  • Assist with in-studio recording sessions, including setting up and breaking down audio equipment 

  • Support post-production workflows, including basic audio editing, quality checks, and file organization 

  • Add sponsor ads, intro, and outro music to episodes 

  • Collaborate on marketing efforts, including researching emerging podcast marketing trends: short-form video, reels, and new platforms 

  • Assist with scheduling interviews and coordinating recording time 

  • Help publish episodes across podcast platforms and upload to Castos 

  • Identify compelling quotes and audio/video clips for social media promotion 

  • Update podcast stats for weekly editorial meetings 

  • Create internal documentation for future production use, including recording guidelines, studio setup guides, and episode checklists 

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate program or a recent graduate 

  • Interest in storytelling 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills without the use of generative pretrained transformers 

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively 

  • No podcast production experience required; just a willingness to learn 

  • Interest in aging, health, or neuroscience is a plus
